MAGIC MIRROR MEDSPA · PATIENT GUIDE
Resurfacing, tightening, and scar refinement describe different goals. This guide helps you identify your priority and understand what an Opus consultation should resolve.
Opus combines radiofrequency technology with fractional plasma treatment for skin resurfacing. “Fractional” describes treatment delivered in a pattern rather than uniformly treating every point of the surface. The device platform and the selected treatment approach are only part of the plan; the provider must also assess your skin and the intended area. Alma’s Opus overview explains the technology.
A manufacturer’s list of capabilities is not a promise that every application is right for you. Confirm the exact treatment being offered, the goal it addresses, and the expected recovery at your consultation.
Skin resurfacing is the more relevant discussion when surface texture and visible skin quality are your priorities. Skin tightening focuses on laxity and the degree of firming that may be realistic. Scar consultation begins with the scar’s type, age, location, and history.
These concerns can overlap. Explain which one matters most so the provider can describe whether one treatment plan makes sense or whether different approaches should be considered.
Discuss your skin’s sensitivity, previous reactions, sun exposure, and any history of pigment changes or unusual scarring. Bring your skin-care list and information about recent procedures. Ask what would require postponing treatment and whether another approach has a more suitable risk profile.
Your calendar matters too. Ask about the expected visible healing phase, returning to makeup and exercise, and when to assess the result. A lower-interruption plan and a more intensive treatment may involve different trade-offs.
Ask why the provider recommends a particular number of visits, what will be assessed between them, and what would change that recommendation. Understand the price of the complete proposed course and whether aftercare products or follow-up visits are separate.
Before-and-after photos are most useful when they show a concern similar to yours and explain the treatment course. Ask about timing, lighting, and whether other procedures contributed. Photographs illustrate possibilities; they do not guarantee an individual result.
Which of my concerns is this treatment most likely to address? What limitations should I expect? What are the risks for my skin? Who will perform the treatment? What should I do if healing does not follow the expected course?
You can explore the technology page before requesting a skin consultation. You do not need to choose treatment settings or a procedure in advance.
