MAGIC MIRROR MEDSPA · PATIENT GUIDE
A brow appointment is a chance to decide what to keep as well as what to remove. Clear preferences and an up-to-date skin history help make the result more intentional.
Before waxing, explain whether you prefer a soft outline, a more defined arch, or simply removal of stray hairs. Point out areas you are trying to grow and mention any previous over-waxing. A reference image can communicate style, but the plan should suit the hair you have.
Brows do not need to be made identical at the expense of fullness. Ask the specialist to explain the proposed shape before hair removal begins, especially if you are changing your usual style.
Tell the team about retinoids, isotretinoin, exfoliating products, recent peels or resurfacing, and irritated or sunburned skin. Waxing can lift or injure vulnerable skin. The American Academy of Dermatology’s waxing guidance explains important precautions.
Do not stop a prescribed treatment without appropriate advice. Contact the practice before your appointment if you are unsure whether waxing is suitable or whether another hair-removal approach should be discussed.
Waxing changes the outline by removing selected hairs. Tinting changes the visibility and color of existing brow hair. If your concern is sparse-looking or very light brows, removing more hair may not be the answer.
You can discuss both services, but confirm suitability, timing, and separate charges. Explain whether you normally fill your brows with makeup so the team understands the look you want when the appointment is finished.
Some redness or sensitivity can follow hair removal. Ask which skin products to avoid temporarily and how to care for the area. If you develop marked swelling, blistering, persistent pain, or a worsening reaction, seek appropriate advice rather than covering the problem with makeup.
Schedule maintenance around your actual regrowth and preferred shape. Avoid repeatedly removing hairs between visits if you are trying to rebuild fullness; discuss a growth plan with the specialist instead.
Should I arrive with brow makeup? Ask the team how they prefer you to prepare. A photo of your usual finished brows can still help explain your preference.
Can waxing create hair where it is sparse? No. It shapes existing growth. Tinting or daily styling may be a separate discussion.
What if my skin is sensitive? Mention your history before the visit so suitability and alternatives can be reviewed.
